Malika Sanders-Fortier is the daughter of Rose Sanders and Hank Sanders.
Highlander visit
March 2023 Highlander Research and Education Center hosted Coumba Toure, Board Chair of Trust Africa, and Malika Sanders-Fortier, an organizer, attorney, former executive director of 21st Century Youth Leadership Movement and a former Alabama Senator and gubernatorial candidate. Coumba and Malika visited Highlander as part of the Mali Institute for Popular Education's Black Link Tour, reconnecting with relationships, memories and stories that have influenced the Institute's work since its founding.[1]
