Lydia Miller
Lydia Miller was appointed Executive Director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board on 11 July 2005 marking a return to the Australia Council for Ms Miller who held a similar position between 1994 and 1997. A Kuku Yalanji woman from Far North Queensland, Ms Miller has a wealth of experience in the arts and cultural sector spanning some 20 years as a performer, artistic director, producer, administrator, senior executive and advocate. Her professional performing arts career spans theatre, film, television and radio.
She has held a number of Council, Board and Committee positions including the Aboriginal National Theatre Trust, Australian National Playwrights Centre, National Indigenous Arts Advocacy Association and Bangarra Dance Theatre. She combines this artistic background with experience in the health, community services and criminal justice sectors.
