Asian Americans for Equality celebrated their 40th Anniversary Gala, November 18, 2014, at Tribeca 360, 10 Debrosses St NYC.
Honored "Agents of Change" included Irma Rodriguez;[1]
- Irma Rodriguez, a graduate of the Hunter College School of Social Work, is the Executive Director of the Queens Community House. Serving over 25,000 Queens residents a year in 24 programs in eleven neighborhoods, QCH is the one of the premier settlement houses in New York City, getting its start in the Forest Hills community and expanding to other areas of Queens over the past forty years. Irma has also taught at several local colleges and universities, sharing her expertise and writing on such topics as community organization, social administration, and social work field instruction. The QCH is also actively organizing and advocating for expanding voting rights, preserving parks, and social justice campaigns.
