Communist connection

While vice president of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee, Florida based Fernando Cuevas had some contact with the Communist Party USA. According to a 2001 report "Building the Communist Party USA in the South (PART 2) by Russell Pelle, Chair Communist Party of Jacksonville, Florida:

FLOC, whose V.P., Fernando Cuevas, lives near Orlando, organizes southern workers from Texas through the Carolinas. Our party was done some work with them, including a speaking engagement in Jacksonville for Cuevas on immigrant rights. Cuevas has expressed appreciation for several articles in PWW and PA.
