Davu Flint joined the staff[1]of POWER in May of 2009 as Bayview Organizing Project Organizer .

Activism

A former Americorps fellow and Pittsburgh, PA native Flint cut his organizing teeth with the Pittsburgh Council on Public Education organizing former gang members.

He has worked as an HIV counselor in Botswana and helped organize Botswana's 1st ever Human Rights Film Festival. In 2001 Flint helped develop a brief to the UN detailing Human Rights Abuses in Botswana' refugee camps Upon returning to the U.S. Davu served as an HIV counselor with the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, as well as a literacy tutor with the Children's Defense Fund in Clinton, Tennesse.

A published poet, Davu Flint's work can be found in the anthology Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam (Random House).
