Community Choice Act
Community Choice Act is legislation "originally drafted by ADAPT" as explained by ADAPT leader Bob Kafka.[1]
Community Choice Act
After ADAPT wrote the legislation, they organized rallies all over America to bring attention to the legislation.[2]
Community First Choice
The Arc explains:
"The Community First Choice (CFC) Option emerged from discussions with Senator Tom Harkin's (D-IA) and Representative Danny Davis' (D-IL) offices in August of 2009 as a way to make progress on home and community-based services and supports under Medicaid and a way to lay the foundation for later enactment of the Community Choice Act. The CFC Option would encourage states to provide home and community based services by providing an increased federal share Medicaid of payments. However, if a state chooses the CFC option, they would have to adhere to its higher standards (no caps on services, no waiting lists, and no geographic restrictions.)"[3]
