Dr. Ayesha Mje-Tei Imam is Nigerian and lives in Dakar, Senegal. She has been working in the field of human rights and democratic development for over 20 years, particularly in the promotion of women's rights in Nigeria and throughout Africa.[1]
First Gender Institute
In 1984, Imam was the Course Director for the First Gender Institute, Council for the Development of Social Science in Africa (CODESRIA), Dakar, Senegal.[2]
Women Living Under Muslim Laws
Imam is a Board Member of the Network of Women Living Under Muslim Laws.[3]
Greenpeace
Imam served on the Board of Directors for Greenpeace from March 2006 - March 2009.[4]
Africa Action involvement
In 2009, Ayesha Imam was listed on the Board of Directors for Africa Action.[5]
Africa Democracy Forum
Imam is the chair of the Africa Democracy Forum, a network of African democracy activists.[6]
