Presidential veto

In 1969 Franklin Long's appointment as head of the non-political National Science Foundation was vetoed on political grounds by President Nixon[1].

Institute for Policy Studies

Franklin Long was a member[2]of the Institute for Policy Studies 20th Anniversary Committee, which organized an April 5, 1983, reception at the National Building Museum, Washington DC attended by approximately 1,000 IPS staffers and former staff.
