ProgressNow, previously the Rocky Mountain Progressive Network, was founded in 2003. ProgressNow, a 501c4 organization, along with its sister organization ProgressNow Education, a 501c3 organization, bills itself as a marketing department for progressive ideas and an answer to conservative propaganda.[1] The Founding Chairman is Rollie Heath, a Boulder executive who gained office as the 18th District State Senator in 2008. Executive Director Michael Huttner runs ProgressNow. He is a UC Hastings law graduate and lawyer turned political consultant.[2] The Deputy Director is Bobby Clark, who was involved with Howard Dean's online campaign.[3]

Its founding Board Members include Wes Boyd, founder of MoveOn.org[4], Rob McKay, Chairman of the Board of the Democracy Alliance and President of the McKay Family Foundation[5], Jared Polis, elected in 2008 as the U.S. Congressman for Colorado’s 2nd District[6], and Ted Trimpa (Chair), a lawyer in Hogan and Hartson’s government relations practice[7].
