In 1992 [[Magdelena Avila]] was a doctoral candidate at the School of Public Health, UOC Berkeley. She was a founder of [[Technical Assistance for the People]], and a founder of the [[Berkeley Coalition for Environmental Justice]], and an activist against Chem Waste. She was interviewed about her work by [[Max Elbaum]] and [[CrossRoads]] staff member [[Nancy Stein]], for the April 1992 joint [[Forward Motion]]/[[CrossRoads]] issue.
