Patrick Barrett
Template:TOCnestleft Patrick Barrett was born and raised in Nichols, Florida. He has been residing in New Mexico since 2005. In 2014 Patrick received his Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminology. During his final year at UNM his senior thesis examined political coalitions between African Americans and Latinos (Mexican Americans) from this research he was able to secure employment with a civil rights organization who predominantly works with the immigrant community here in New Mexico. During his employment at Somos Un Pueblo Unido Patrick discovered this powerful alliance could really bring about systemic change. Patrick feels that grassroots organizing is one key tool to help empower communities. He works at SouthWest Organizing Project. [1]
