Malik Zulu Shabazz founded Unity Nation in 1988 on the Howard University Law School campus. Unity Nation was a self-described "black revolutionary" student group. Founder Malik Zulu Shabazzs' militant temperament caught the eye of the Khalid Abdul Muhammad, protégé of Nation of Islam (NOI)leader Louis Farrakhan and was subsequently invited to join the NOI.
