The National LGBTQ Task Force was formerly known as the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

The founding members of the National LGBTQ Task Force included Dr. Howard Brown, Martin Duberman, Barbara Gittings, Ron Gold, Frank Kameny, Nathalie Rockhill and Bruce Voeller.
