Tom Weisskopf holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT and is Professor ofEconomics at the University of Michigan, where he also teaches in the Social Science Program of the Residential College.

He is a long-time member of the Union for Radical Political Economics and the Democratic Socialists of America[1].

He is the son of Victor Weisskopf.

Writing

Democratic Socialists of America member Thomas E. Weisskopf's most recent book (co-authored with Samuel Bowles and David Gordon) is After The Waste Land: A Democratic Economics for the Year 2000 (M. E. Sharpe, 1991 ); he is currently working with Neva Goodwin on a textbook, Economics in Context, for use in the former Soviet Union[2].

Union for Radical Political Economics

In 1968, Tom Weisskopf was a founding member of the Union for Radical Political Economics, an alternative professional organization for left political economists and an intellectual home for academics, policy-makers, and activists.[3]
