Ruth Spitz was an original member[1]of the New American Movement and Democratic Socialists of America. She was involved in the Young People's Socialist League during the late thirties and early forties.

Patricia Mann, CUNY, Graduate Center, Ruth Spitz, SUNY, Empire State, Elayne Rapping, Adelphi University and Paula Kamen, Author, Feminist Fatale were speakers on the Whither Feminism: A Trans-Generational Dialogue panel sponsored by Social Text, Democratic Socialists of America, Radical Philosophy Association at the Tenth Annual Socialist Scholars Conference. The conference was held April 24-26, 1992 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York City[3]
