The Institute for Media Analysis is an organization, established in 1986, that believes modern media aims to indoctrinate of the public under the interests of corporate, industrial, military, and ruling powers. It aims to analyze this phenomenon. It has published and/or produced Jim Garrison's On the Trail of the Assassins (which became Oliver Stone's film, JFK), Bioterror: Manufacturing Wars the American Way, Covert Action: The Roots of Terrorism (previous two were published through an affiliation with Melbourne, Australia-based Ocean Press), monographs, and a monthly magazine (Lies Of Our Times--1990-1994).
IMA has also sponsored national and international conferences, such as Anti-communism in American Life at Harvard University. The organization provides speakers for events and debates, makes presentations to the United Nations and at international conferences and acted as fiscal sponsor for non-profits with similar purposes. IMA has worked with Pacifica Campaign, Democracy Now!, the Center for Non-Profit Technology, and others.[1]
