The United States Department of the Interior is a Cabinet department that is responsible for the management and conservation of most federal land, as well as of the administration of programs relating to Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians, and to insular areas of the United States.
The department was previously headed by Secretary of the Interior, Kenneth L Salazar. It is now headed by Deb Haaland.
