Thomas Riggins

Thomas Riggins is a New York university lecturer in philosophy and ancient studies. He is a retired city housing manager and a veteran of the peace and civil rights movements of the 1960s. He holds degrees from Florida State University and the CUNY Graduate Center. He is currently a member of the United Auto Workers and a former Teamster. He has been writing for Political Affairs since 1999 and more recently for People's World. [1]

Communist Party reformer

In 1991 Thomas Riggins, New York, was one of several hundred Communist Party USA members to sign the a paper "An initiative to Unite and Renew the Party"-most signatories left the Party after the December 1991 conference to found Committees of Correspondence.[2]

Political Affairs

In 2009 Thomas Riggins was Associate Editor and a member[3] of the Editorial Collective of Political Affairs, theoretical journal of the Communist Party USA.

CPUSA Environmental Action

CPUSA Environmental Action is a Facebook closed group. It is "a meeting place for members and friends of the Communist Party USA to discuss environmental issues (especially climate change), share information, and coordinate activities".

As of June 21, 2017 members included Thomas Riggins;[4]
