Americans for Democratic Action Endorsement

Americans for Democratic Action Iowa endorsed Teresa Meyer in her bid for the Democratic nomination in Iowa House District 63.[4]

From the article:

"She is an avid supporter and ally to labor, students, women and the LGBT community. Meyer will move Iowa forward and help heal the partisan divide that has underfunded our mental health programs and schools and aided in the privatization of Iowa Medicaid,” University of Northern Iowa ADA President Logun Buckley said in a statement...Meyer also has the support of two labor unions, the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Iowa Council 61."

Tight Primary

Teresa Meyer won the 2016 primary by a paper-thin margin:

"Initial reports had [Republican opponent Eric] Stromberg ahead by 16 votes, but after discovery of a 'formatting error,' as Black Hawk County Auditor Grant Veeder called it, caused a misreporting of votes from seven precincts in northern Black Hawk County, Meyer took a 539-501 lead..."[5]
