In 1980 Robert Shaffer, New York City, was a delegate to the December 12-14 Chicago, National Council meeting of the New American Movement[1].

New American Movement 10th convention

In 1981 Robert Shaffer, Chair of the Commission led a workshop entitled International Commmission at the 10th Convention of the New American Movement. The convention was held in a union headquarters in Chicago and ran from July 29 - August 2, 1981.

Shaffer spoke alongside Judy Kunnes, Chair, Chicago Northside NAM and Holly Graff, Co-Chair, Negotiating Committee on a mini-plenary entitled NAM/DSOC Informational Session and Preliminary Debate.[4]

Shaffer also spoke alongside Elaine Smith, Chair, Pitt NAM and Richard Healey, Co-Chair, Negotiating Committee in a workshop entitled NAM/DSOC Informational Session and Preliminary Debate.[5]

In 1983 Robert Shaffer was a New York delegate to the Democratic Socialists of America conference in New York City, October 14-16, 1983[6]
