Melissa O'Rourke

Template:TOCnestleft Melissa O'Rourke is the Labor Commission Coordinator of the Communist Party USA.[1] She also edits Labor UpFront, the Labor Commission's blog.[2] She lives in Indianapolis Indiana, and has worked since 2008, at Trader Joes.

Communist Party tribute

In July 2007, the Communist Party USA paper Peoples World published a tribute "We salute Joyce Wheeler" to retiring Baltimore public school teacher and Communist Party member Joyce Wheeler. Melissa O'Rourke signed the tribute page. Most of the more than 100 signatories were identified Party members.[3]

Indiana Statehouse action

So, seven years ago today at the Indiana Statehouse, this happened. They were some of the craziest, busiest days of my life, fighting against right to work and all manner of wicked awful legislation.
