John Talbutt died late 2017, or early 2018, was a New York City activist.

In 1975 John Talbutt - Trade Unionists for Action and Democracy (TUAD}, New York, participated in the National Conference for a Drastic Cutback in Military Spending.

In 1991 John Talbutt, New York, was one of several hundred Communist Party USA members to sign the a paper "An initiative to Unite and Renew the Party" - most signatories left the Party after the December 1991 conference to found Committees of Correspondence.[1]

NY Metro CCDS mourns the loss of our dear comrade and friend, John Talbutt. A memorial will be held at AFSCME District Council 37 on March 1, 2018 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

Photos below were taken at the Charles Ensley Scholarship Dinner of the Social Services union, SSEU Local 371 of AFSCME in New York City where John was honored and presented with a proclamation from the local union's president Anthony Wells for his many years of service in the communications department of the local. Also pictured is CCDS leader Georgia Wever with John at the dinner.[5]
