Books Garreau has written include The Nine Nations of North America, Edge City: Life on the New Frontier and Radical Evolution: The Promise and Peril of Enhancing Our Minds, Our Bodies, and What It Means to Be Human. Garreau has been a fellow at Cambridge University, the University of California at Berkeley and George Mason University, and is a member of Global Business Network.[1]

Garreau is a fellow in The Bernard L. Schwartz Fellows Program with the New America Foundation, as of 2010.[1]

New America Foundation

As at May 4, 2010, Joel Garreau served as a Schwartz Fellow for the New America Foundation.[2] Founded in 1999 by Ted Halstead, the Foundation is a leftist public policy institute which claims to be nonpartisan, and seeks pragmatic solutions to "the next generation of challenges facing the United States".[3][4]
