Frédéric Joliot-Curie (19 March 1900 – 14 August 1958) was an avowed French Communist. He headed the World Congress for Peace in Paris, held from April 20 - 23, 1949.

The World Congress for Peace in Paris conference was one of the follow-up conferences to the Scientific and Cultural Conference for World Peace which was held on March 25 - 27, 1949 in New York City.[1]
