New American Movement 10th convention

In 1981 Elaine Smith, Chair, Pitt NAM; Richard Healey, Co-Chair, Negotiating Committee and Robert Shaffer, NIC led a workshop entitled NAM/DSOC Informational Session and Preliminary Debate at the 10th Convention of the New American Movement. The convention was held in a union headquarters in Chicago and ran from July 29 - August 2, 1981.

Smith also led a workshop entitled Special Concerns in Organizing Working Women.[1]

New American Movement

In 1982 Elaine Smith was a members of Pittsburgh Working Women and New American Movement[2].

DSA Feminist Commission

In 1985, Elaine Smith of Pennsylvania was listed as a member of the Feminist Commission of the Democratic Socialists of America.[3]
