Dennis Denno

Template:TOCnestleft Dennis Denno is an Arab-American East Lansing resident and has served as chief of staff to Sen. Buzz Thomas since about 2004.[1]

Political Career

In 2003 Denno served as the campaign manager for then-Sen. Virg Bernero during the latter's first run to become Lansing mayor. Since then, he worked on numerous campaigns, including football coach George Perles' successful 2006 run for MSU trustees and MSU Trustee Diann Woodard's effort in 2008.[1] Denno has also worked on the Michigan Obama-Biden campaign, the 1996 and 1992 Michigan Clinton-Gore campaigns.

Before working for Senator Thomas he worked as the Communications Director for the Michigan Democratic Party.

Denno has also worked for Michigan Speaker of the House Curtis Hertel and for State Representative LaMar Lemmons.[2]

Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services

In 2010 Dennis Denno served on the board of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services.

2010 Run for MSU Board

In 2010 Denno ran for a spot on the Michigan State University Board of Trustees. He ran alongside incumbent Colleen McNamara, who was seeking a third term. Former East Lansing Mayor Sam Singh also stepped into the trustees race. Singh is a 1994 grad of MSU and is a consultant for the New Economy Initiative of Southeast Michigan.[1]

The Justice Caucus

In 2010 Denno was endorsed by the The Justice Caucus in his candidacy for for the Michigan State University (MSU) Board of Trustees.[3]

Arab American Political Action Committee

In 2010 Denno was endorsed by the Arab American Political Action Committee in his candidacy for for MSU Trustee.[4]

United Auto Workers

In 2010, Denno was endorsed by United Auto Workers union locals, UAW Local 600[5] and UAW Local 892.[6]
