Angelina Bouros posted images of her mutilated cat "Rambo" on Twitter on Jun 22, 2019. As of January 30, 2020, it is still her "pinned" Tweet. (warning: gruesome image)[2] Angelina Bouros claimed that she was the recipient of four threatening letters, the most recent took responsibility for killing her cat.[3] According to a NowThis video, Angelina Bouros claimed that she received the first letter on July 31 2017.[4] In an article[5] at a local publication by Patricia Doxsey dated Aug 25, 2017 titled "Transgender woman in Rosendale not deterred by hateful message," the author wrote that someone left "a hateful and obscenity-laced letter on her property one day while she [Angelina Bouros] was at work." The Now This video was produced by Shelby Levinson, Camera Matt Dorsi, Video Editor Suzanne Gaber, Senior Producers Tom McKenna, Mike Madden, Special Thanks to Jill Dorsi.

From the article:

"The letter, found by a friend staying at her home, stated in part: “I just found out that you used to be a man, and pretty good looking too, and now you are a woman. You FREAK! Your (sic) a disgrace to the neighborhood, thank god we live way up the road away from you and we don’t have to see you everyday. Your (sic) a f—king freak, all of you gays who fly those stupid rainbow flags are all freaks.”
"It was signed “Your Fischer Avenue neighbor.”
"Bouros said she was shocked that someone in the Rosendale neighborhood she calls home would leave her such a hate-filled rant. Until that moment, she said, she had lived without incident in the home she purchased seven years ago."

[...]

"After speaking to Rosendale police — who are investigating the incident as a hate crime, Chief Perry Soule said Friday — Bouros set out to get to know her neighbors, knocking on each and every door on her street, letting them know who she was and what someone had said about her."

The Hudson Valley Post[6] reported that Angelina Bouros was offering a reward to find the person/s who killed her cat, and announced her house painting party.

"TO THOSE WHO THINK YOUR HATE MAIL AND KILLING RAMBO WILL INTIMIDATE ME - YOU'RE WRONG- I AM DEDICATED TO ERADICATING YOUR HATRED AND BIGOTRY IN OUR COMMUNITY," she wrote in a flyer offering a reward in a post on Facebook.[7]
On Saturday, Bouros is asking the community to join her as she paints her Rosendale home on Dellay Avenue in rainbow colors.
"Due to hate mail I received and the recent brutal killing of my cat Rambo in the back of my property, I am painting my house the colors of the rainbow and send a CLEAR message: Hate has NO home here," Bouros said in a Facebook post promoting her event.
