The New School for Social Research is a progressive university with the mission of preparing "its 9,400 undergraduate and graduate students to bring actual, positive change to the world."

The New School graduates become economists, actors, fashion designers, urban planners, dancers, anthropologists, orchestra conductors, filmmakers, political scientists, organizational experts, jazz musicians, scholars, psychologists, historians, and journalists.[1]
