Shaunna Thomas

Shaunna Thomas is a native Southern Californian and has a BA in political science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.[1]

2004 Election Campaigning

Shaunna campaigned and raised money for the Democratic candidate in the 2004 presidential election, at which time she became heavily involved in the youth progressive movement.[1]

Bike & Build

Shaunna served as the executive director of Bike & Build, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for and awareness of affordable housing issues through cross-country cycling events. She currently serves on the board of the organization.[1]

Young People For

Thomas was a founding staffer of Young People For in 2005. She is currently responsible for the internal management of the organization.[1]

Generational Alliance

Thomas serves as a coordinating committee chair in the Generational Alliance, a strategic collaboration of organizations across the country that support the empowerment of low-income youth, youth of color, and LGBT youth who are pursuing progressive victories for their communities.[1]

Progressive Congress

Shaunna Thomas is the Chief Operating Officer of ProgressiveCongress.org and the Progressive Congress Action Fund. She spent much of 2009 putting in place the infrastructure for progressive coordination inside and outside of Congress, convening meetings, hosting phone calls, and creating online forums for engaging Congressional staff and bringing to the table faith-based organizations and communities of color to participate in the debate in unprecedented ways.[2]
