Herbert Aptheker Testimonial Dinner

On April 28, 1966 Morris Schappes was a sponsor of the Herbert Aptheker Testimonial Dinner. The dinner was held on the occasion of Herbert Aptheker's 50th birthday, the publication of his 20th book, and the 2nd anniversary of the American Institute for Marxist Studies. It was held in the Sutton Ballroom, The New York Hilton, Avenue of the Americas, 53rd to 54th Street, New York City. Most speakers, organizers and sponsors were known members or supporters of the Communist Party USA.[1]

Henry Foner, F.I.T., Morris Schappes, Editor, Jewish Currents, Ethan Block, Bard College, Aviva Cantor, Author, The Egalitarian Hagaddah and Ezra Goldstein, Associate Editor, Jewish Currents were speakers on the Israel, the Middle East, the Peace Process and American Jews panel sponsored by Jewish Currents at the Tenth Annual Socialist Scholars Conference. The conference was held April 24-26, 1992 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York City[2]

In 1993 Morris Schappes was the editor of Jewish Currents.[3]
